The next version of rfc2393bis draft will reflect the IKE attributes decisions. 1. IKE attributes 1.1 Lifetime The Lifetime attribute is added to the list of supported attributes (with Transport Mode) when IPComp association is negotiate via IKE. 1.2 Attribute of other transforms in Protection Suite In a straw vote, not even a single participant indicated that his/her implementation sends attributes other than those needed for IPComp when negotiating a Protection Suite. Moreover, no implementation is expecting the IPCOMP proposal to include attributes from other transforms of a negotiated Protection Suite and accordingly never rejects an IPCOMP proposal that does not include attributes of the other transforms. 2. IPComp is needed in future VPN bakeoffs, as more interoperability tests are required for several implementations. Regards, avram
